The Greater New Orleans Seminole Club was formally chartered by the Florida State University Alumni Association in February 2010. Prior to Hurricane Katrina, the Bayou Seminole Club was active in the metropolitan New Orleans area.
We are an active organization that holds events for singles and families alike – tubing trips, happy hours, March Madness bracket contests, game watches and even Mardi Gras events.
Given that New Orleans plays host to a Bowl Championship Series game each January, it is important for the University to have a presence here, and as alumni, we are proud to organize that presence and represent our alma mater with rampant garnet and gold.
We envision a club that will create networking opportunities for recent and more seasoned alumni alike, that will host visiting alumni and students, that will give back to the Greater New Orleans area through community service and financial support. This direction has been designed through feedback from a recent survey administered to club participants, and we hope that it aligns closely with the mission statement and goals of the Florida State University Alumni Association.
