USF and NC State Game Watch Info – and oh, hey, we beat #10 Clemson!
So Saturday night was pretty intense in the college football world. Oregon crushed a ranked Arizona team, LSU hung on to beat Auburn, Notre Dame pulled out a win against Michigan, and #15 Kansas State traveled to Norman and upset #6 Oklahoma.
Oh, and FSU put on a display of offensive firepower not seen since the 2005 season. Going into the Clemson game, FSU’s defense received a ton of media attention. But Saturday night, the story was EJ Manuel, who threw for 380 yards and ran for another 102 yards in the best game of his career. The Seminoles put up 667 yards in total offense – and Clemson’s high-powered and tricky offense couldn’t keep up the pace.
In what was widely considered the test for whether or not Florida State is “back,” the Noles showed up, winning 49-37. More than 100 FSU fans crammed into Down the Hatch to cheer on the team – way to go, y’all! Here are some highlights from the game:
Hopefully you started off that remarkable Saturday, though, watching College Gameday, which was broadcast live from Langford Green outside of Doak Campbell Stadium. During the broadcast, Tom Rinaldi produced a tearjerker segment about Coach Fisher’s son, Ethan, who is battling Fanconi Anemia. If you missed it, click here. Seriously. Now.
For the next two games, the Noles will head out on the road.
The Greater New Orleans Seminole Club will hold game watches for both games at Down the Hatch (1921 Sophie Wright Place, in the Garden District). See you there!
