Congrats to the FSU baseball team!
The NCAA Baseball committee announced Sunday that Tallahassee has been selected as one of 16 regional tournament host sites for the NCAA Baseball Tournament – and today, the Florida State baseball team was listed as one of the top eight national seeds. With a #5 national seed, the Noles will be matched up against the Texas A&M regional, and FSU will host Alabama, Bethune-Cookman and UCF this weekend at Dick Howser Stadium. Assuming the Noles win their regional (and UCF is a very tough opponent), they’ll host the winner of the College Station regional next weekend for a chance to advance to the College World Series in Omaha.
The Tallahassee regional will kick off Friday at noon ET with UCF-Alabama, with FSU-BCC to follow at 6:00 p.m. ET.
It marks the 28th time that Florida State will host an NCAA Regional and assures the Seminoles 49th regional appearance. It also extends the Seminoles streak of consecutive regional appearances to 34, which is the nation’s second-longest active streak.
Tickets will go on sale today, Monday, May 30 at 5:00 p.m. Reserved seat tickets are $50, while general admission seats will go for $35. They can be purchased at www.seminoles.com starting today. FSU’s ticket office will re-open Tuesday, following the holiday, and will be taking sales by phone (1-888-FSU-NOLE or 850-644-1830) or in person during its 8:30 a.m – 5 :00 p.m. office hours.
Florida State will only sell all-regional passes until Thursday night. Individual game tickets for the first two games will go on sale Thursday at 6 p.m. via Seminoles.com, with the next set of games on sale the night before the second-day contests once opponents have been determined.
Congrats to the Noles! Did you know that FSU had more wins against top twenty-five teams than any other Division I baseball team this season?
