Sweet 16, bay-bee!
Okay, be honest. Who saw this coming? The No. 10 seeded Noles defeated the No. 2 seeded Notre Dame Fighting Irish – whose lineup included Big East player of the year Ben (Baby) Hansbrough in what can best be described as the most complete game Florida State has played this season.
Heck, Leonard Hamilton even cracked a smile.
For the first time since 1993 (aka the Sam Cassell and Charlie Ward era), FSU is advancing to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. The Seminoles will play the upstart Virginia Commonwealth Rams – who entered the tournament via a play-in bid, no less – on Friday, March 25 at around 8:57 p.m. CT.
I know, I know. That’s a late tip-off.
But it’s the Sweet 16, baby! Join fellow Noles at New York Pizza that night for great drink and food specials and a whole lot of Seminole love.
